New Patient FAQ

Do you accept walk-ins?
Having a scheduled appointment will reduce your wait time and your pet’s stress. In the event your pet has a medical emergency and you arrive without an appointment, we will immediately assess your pet’s condition and triage them accordingly. Critical emergency cases will receive top priority followed by patients with previously scheduled appointments. Emergency visits are charged an additional fee.
What is your patient arrival policy?
For your pet’s protection, please use proper restraint when entering the hospital, as well as when walking your pet on the hospital grounds. Dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled at all times. Cats must arrive in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash/harness; it is not safe for your cat to be carried in your arms.
What is your payment policy?
Payment in full is due when services are rendered. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Care Credit, personal checks and cash.
Do you offer payment plans?
We realize the cost of pet care can sometimes be overwhelming; there are options to consider before your pet becomes ill. Care Credit can provide a line of credit available for you to use at any time in the treatment of your pet. You can apply online for Care Credit. We can also process an application for you in the hospital; both methods will give you an immediate decision. Pet health insurance is another option to consider before your pet becomes ill. VPI pet insurance and Trupanion offer different levels of coverage and can be applied for directly online.
Can I schedule an appointment online?
While you can’t schedule an appointment, you can request an appointment online and choose a date and time that works best for you. After the request is received, a hospital associate will contact you within 1 day to either confirm the appointment or schedule it for an available time.

What is CareCredit?
CareCredit is a credit card that may be used to pay unexpected vet bills and defer interest for 6 months. The penalty for not paying off the loan on time is steep: interest rates are as high as 27.99%, dating from when the charge was incurred. CareCredit also has fixed-payment plans that charge interest from the get-go. Rates vary widely, depending on your credit history. For more information and an application you may go to http://www.carecredit.com/.
Is pre-operative testing optional for my pet?
As with humans, pre-operative testing is not optional for your pet. Your veterinarian wants to be sure that all signs indicate your pet’s heart, liver and kidney functions will allow them to undergo anesthesia and the surgical procedure with an outlook for optimum success.
Why does my pet need to repeat blood work testing for certain medications?
Your pet’s successful therapy depends on monitoring. This ensures that the medications are working as intended and that any possible side effects are being noted. You are your pet’s health care advocate. Closely following your veterinarian’s dosing instructions, immediately reporting any changes in your pet’s attitude or appearance and adhering to the recommended lab testing schedule will ensure your pet is receiving the maximum benefit from therapeutic drug treatment.
What if I want to buy my pet's medication online?
If you wish to purchase medication elsewhere, please contact our hospital manager to discuss important information you should know before you order. We do not give phone or fax approval for prescription orders directly to an online pharmacy. For your pet’s safety, we will provide you a written prescription only. Please allow a 24-hour turn around time when submitting your request.
Do you offer grooming or bathing services?
We have a groomer on premises and our veterinary assistants provide bathing services for pets. Your pet must be current on vaccinations and have had an examination by one of our veterinarians within the past year in order to book an appointment. Dogs must be current on their rabies, distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccinations or titers and cats must be current on their rabies and felinedistemper vaccinations or titers.
