Pet Oncology Care in Modesto

Cancer is a disease that can impact even the healthiest humans and animals. The good news is that in many cases cancer in pets can be treated thanks to a number of advanced methods.

At American Pet Hospital, our Modesto team of veterinary professionals are passionate about providing quality care and treatment of pets with cancer, and support for the families that love them. Working closely with other specialists and your primary care veterinarian, we'll ensure your pet receives the best possible care.

After reviewing your pet’s medical history and diagnosis we will sit down with you to discuss the disease, staging (additional diagnostics), treatment options and the prognosis for your pet.

Veterinary Oncology at American Pet Hospital

At American Pet Hospital we believe that caring for a pet with cancer should be a team effort. Our goal is to provide pet owners with the most accurate diagnoses and staging information possible, along with appropriate treatment recommendations for their pets. Our vets are experienced in diagnosing and treating a range of cancers in pets, however, if your dog or cat requires specialized cancer diagnostics or care we will refer you to a Veterinary Oncologist in Modesto or as close to your home as possible.

Staging (Additional Diagnostics)

After an initial diagnosis of cancer, additional diagnostic testing is sometimes recommended to help to determine the extent of cancer, provide us with additional information so that treatment can be optimized, and better predict prognosis.

Treatment Options

When staging is complete, your veterinarian will discuss all the appropriate treatment options. Cancer can be treated by several different therapies or combinations of treatments including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies or palliative care when appropriate.
